Some ad blockers work better than others. Try using a different one. And try not to let them bother you, ads on websites and other media forms like radio and TV aren't going away.

As Elmer mentioned there are several different ad blockers but the one called Adblock Plus (note the spelling) seems to work the best, at least for me. Since your thread title is a tablet, to the best of my knowledge no ad blocking software works inside of app like, say, Facebook and you can't use it as an extension for Chrome like you can do on a desktop. Adblock Plus does offer their own browser which you can download through the Google Play store. It seems to be based on Firefox and does work, although it is a little slow from time to time.
