Lol! Don't mind the veggie seeds germinating! Getting a head start for Spring/Summer.

    Stunning! I'm so jealous. :-)

Monica, lockii is stupid easy. Lambii, a bit on the difficult side, but manageable.

I have some goodies up on ebay, if you are interested, not to enable anyone, or anything, lol!

I'm on my second lambii. I read they can be rot prone? so I underwatered it, thus killing it. Lambii 2 is ok so far. Grown 3 leaves and dropped a forth. Naturally I'll probably over water it this time... It's currently sitting there deciding if it could be bothered growing anymore before the weather gets cold.

P.S. I named both Lambii's Jacqui after a nutjob Tasmanian Politician called Jacqui Lambie. I don't give a damn about politics but the name fits :D Probably cursed the plant now.

Lockii looks very multifloraish in the leaves.

I keep my lambii semi-hydro, only watering when reservoir is dry. The reservoir is also shallower (1/2 inch vs. 1 to 1.5 inches, like my others). Needs less light and prefers warmth. It is on a reptile heating mat.

I want to try semi hydro, but the only place I have found locally that sells the clay ball bits only sells them in massive sacks for $50. I'm like, I only want a quarter of that!

I like that lambii! The leaves look like a hot air balloon.

    They really do!

I'm going to have to figure out how to get my ebay membership up and running again.

Thanks aurorawa. I haven't been on eBay lately. but will definitely check them out. I really like Lockii but got nervous about shipping the thin leafed Hoyas from Thailand

Monica, check your email. The invoice list came back!

It travels really well, though. I'm serious...one lost leaf and peduncle is not bad! When I got the last one in the group order, it was kinda flat, lol, but within 2 hours, it had fixed itself. A remarkably strong plant.

Lockii is going on my wish list! So pretty! :D

Because they are really photogenic, I cannot help but share more pics:

    And, some randomness:

phuwuanensis new leaves (and a caudata 'gold flowers' leaf):

Heat for those that like toasty feet (all of these are on one of three heat mats. Mostly semi-hydro ones over here):

    New leaves on finlaysonii (snow)

    Waymaniae is growing again:

    Random pretties:

(photo above: don't mind the leaf browning from the petiole up, not rot...just knocked it off plant a few days ago, and it is starting to decompose)

Thanks for showing more lambii leaves! I thought mine were growing too narrow compared to the original leaves but they look the same as yours so I feel better.

How safe are heat mats? Are the plants directly on them? Do you run them all day? a few hours? I know my partner wouldn't let me have one running all the time, he gets paranoid about fire. Took him ages to get over his fear that having the slowcooker on all day when you aren't home would burn your house down. He is a weird guy :D

Heat mats are very safe! They are designed for reptiles, so they need to be safe! I run mine 24/7. Yes, the plants are directly on them:

Hmmm, I see it is on wood, that's ok? Would wire shelves be ok as well? I might have to start a "Winter Wimps" corner in the plant room. :D Sorry for asking too many questions in your post, and thank you for answering! I've been a bit cheeky and added a few less cold hardy plants to my collection and it's time to start thinking about getting them through Winter.

I don't think being on wire would hurt! The mat only warms to around 75-80 degrees (F).

And there are some fancier ones you can buy with thermostats/timers? (I know the thermostat ones exist...not sure about timers)...if you want to spend the money.

My lambii is finally doing good, although i had to restart if around 3 times to get it right! Mine likes to dry out between watering and likes good air flow. Its about to bloom again from the same peduncle. My lockii has not been growing for months. It was flowering, but the leaves were very dehydrated. I was about to cut it up,but decided to give it a good watering and put it in the humidity dome where it plumped back up in a week.I now have it in a larger put where the soil stays moist longer and the leaves appear to be fine. lambii and lockii can go down hill quickly if the soil stays wet for too long. On the positive side, the roots wont die if allowed to dry all the way out and then water again...the leaves may get a bit dehydrated but plump back up with water and additional humidity. Whats blows my mind is now i have a seed pod growing from lockii and have no idea how it got pollinated, being it was in my humidity dome when it had flowers.Maybe there was a spider or small roach in the humidity dome that did it? Very excited to see it it will makes any seeds. It sat dormant for months before the pod started growing. I can post pics of both plants if you like??

Lol, all by itself and pollinated! It is one of the easier to get pods from, so I've heard. And photos are ALWAYS welcome!

Took a while, but here they are. Lambing is flowering as of now,so I'm going to start a new thread of Feb. flowers tonight or tomorrow. The pod on lockii is around 4 inches long already...so hoping it will produce viable seed..I'll keep you posted!

I am still laughing about lockii's "immaculate conception"!

Very cool! The only thing I don't like about lockii (and some others) is how ridiculously slow their buds are to develop, lol.

Jimmy, what is that hoya by your pinky?

    epc 301 black leaves.

What kind of humidity dome you guys are using? I have few hoyas that needs those.

A clear plastic rubbermaid, like this:

I put the cuttings on the lid (take the lid off, and place it upside down on the floor) and place the bin back over the lid and lock it closed.

Like this (ha! Found a pic via google):

Ha! thank you Aurora. I'm going to Target to pick some off those.
