kimdee, bobbi, thanks. He's 13 years old and I think that worries me more. The vet said he thought the tumor was a certain kind (can't remember the name) and they are always benign. Hubby told them if he had to stay the night, to fix me a place beside him because there was no way I was leaving my fur baby. *L*

Hello all. This weekend we're headed to Reno, NV - The Peppermill Casino and Resort for my grandaughter's13th birthday. Lucky girl...My daughter's boss is some sort of gambling "whale". There were NO rooms available and one phone call from the lady and now she's getting a Hotel Suite - with an adjoining room AND a private cabana at the pool - for FREE! Boy, times have sure changed..a suite for a 13th birthday? My hubby and I are are crashing a bit to see the suite, hot tub it and photograph the big event. This lady apparently spends a TON or money at the casino and they want her to be happy. And, she's not even going to be there!

Last weekend we went to Sparks, NV for my daughter's 40th BD and we both won $350 playing Texas Holdem so we have some "fun money" for The Peppermill. I'm looking forward to it. Roo was right...I could NOT finish my daughter's Photo Scrapbook of her 40 years but she loved the first 19 years I came up with.

Now isn't this one of those 'what took them so long' moments?

My big, square coffee table has a casting of "The Kiss", 2 carnival glass candy dishes, and 3 "coffee table books"; about the 2 towns in which I've lived as an adult, and one about Superstorm Sandy. I don't have anything "live", because that spot gets very little sun, and it would be "dead" rather than "live" very fast! I don't really have anything "tall" .. oh well!

That vanity is from This Old House Magazine, April issue. The thing is, you can modify your own vanity to fit that! I think all you'd have to do is build a box to hold the tp and magazines; cut a hole in your vanity, toenail the box in and trim it with molding. Unless your vanity, like mine, has the drawers on that side :((

Here's the link. If it doesn't open to this picture, you need to pull up the April issue, "before and after bath" then scroll to this picture. I think it's fabulous! http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,20677100_21286828,00.html

I like video poker! I like all slot machines. I'm a slot slut. hehehe I don't play "live" cards because I'm too slow and they get annoyed with me. But I do love my slots. Found a broken one once, it paid $10 for every $3 I put in!!! Wonderful. Sigh.

12 hr shifts stink...but I do it for the $ and to keep up on medicine...glutton for punishment! Don't have to do then like I used to..Now I can choose if I want to or not. I spent lots of years doing 12's & I am getting old and worn out.

Small win for today: I got the mdf cap off the ledge in the bathroom without wrecking the wall. It was just siliconed and pin-nailed. Easy peasy.

Thanks ladies! I'm trying to decide what to do while I wait to hear from the vet after I take him. Pace the house mindlessly and accomplish nothing, or go to town to run errands and risk impulse comfort purchases. It's so hard to make a decision on which neurotic route to take. *L*

It was a busy day. I might have encouraged our patients son to have a new respect for paramedics and emergency services. Had to transport a patient lights and sirens down one of Edmontons busiest roads in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic then across a 2 lane bridge...

Yikes! I always worry about trying to get out of the way for emergency vehicles. Some people don't pay attention to what's going on behind them.

I think... spring might have finally sprung (for today anyhow). There are six Canada geese right now on the lake behind me, which I noticed with no small amount of glee... now is ice free!
