Except for the round pot, the round mirror trim, the pillow pattern and the round table, it feels like a lot of squares, including the upholstery pattern. The mail holder seems out of place unless you want to paint it white too. Maybe you could lower the mirror and hang it in a diamond formation instead of matching the lampshade and cabinet. What does it reflect? Something you want to see twice or not? I always prefer art when feasible. The elements aren't bad but the positioning could be tweaked for a more relaxed feeling. You might angle the chair and float the table by it to loosen things up a bit.

I like Irene's look of photos, but is that paneling or real wood? That is the accent of the room. The wood flooring also would help. As kinda confused if you have hardwood flooring under your carpet.

Your pieces are still "drawing" a horizontal line from the bottom of the shelf unit, to the lamp shade and then the mirror and then the chair back. Break that by hanging the mirror like a diamond, even though you might have to install some new sawthooth hangers on the back. The bottom of the frame should be 5" above the chair back.
