We're considering purchasing this dining table from Universal Furniture:

My hesitation is that it is veneer and I am worried that how it will hold up against daily use. We have two small kids and this is our everyday table - dining and arts and crafts. I'm not that familiar with Universal Furniture and am wondering too about the quality.

I'd love a solid wood table but it seems impossible to find a hardwood table for a reasonable price.
