Huh, my friend hasn't seen any for a while now. I have seen them before at Terra and Sheridan... sometimes it's a couple months without seeing any.

You can try Valley Succulents and ask if they have any in stock.

Hey Im in Brampton too. I usually look at kijiji time to time to find some good deals on succulents, but they are very rare. Theres a good deal going on in Toronto but its all the way in downtown. Nurseries and commercial places are too expensive.

You have anything to sell CCC?

Just checked the map. I think you went to the Terra in Burlington. I'm closer to the Milton location, but worth going for a look. :)

I'm actually pretty new to the succulent world. I had a bigger collection before but between houses and no place for them most didn't make it. So starting up again after i got a few from a wedding, friends and of course purchases. All still babies tho not quite established.

Sorry, no, Terra Hamilton, Hw. 20, on the way from Hamilton east in the direction of Smithville. Not too close to Brampton :-( . Here are pictures of my little plant. Is it P. oviferum, people?

I have seen them also in Garden Gallery recently - but too far for you (2 locations, 1 in Barrie and 1 in Bradford).

I think there will be more and more plants coming now to most garden centers and nurseries now.

rina I love aloe. They are one plant which arent slow growing and flimsy. I have a few different species but want to grow more.

My friend says Shaw Florists sometimes has the Pachyphytum, but not last week. They are going to be at Kim's Nature this weekend - still not close but will post if they see any there.

Went to CSOrchids and didnt find any aloe list or name. Its also 60+ km NE from here :(

They are a commercial orchid and succulent business. Visits by appointment only. It is far... an hour drive for me.

Not sure how many you have though. They have a bunch I took photos of previously. Some are quite interesting. Aloes aren't my forte so I don't usually keep up with their offering.

From my photos, I've seen tagged: A. longistylia, A. pictifolia, A. dichotoma, A. distans, A. myeloma, A. capitata v. quartzitcola, A. rauhii, A. descoingsii, and a bunch of other hybrids that I never asked about.

I know that they imported a lot of fancier ones from Taiwan over the past 6 months. You may ask if they can tell you what they have? Not sure if they're willing to go through the trouble to give you a list for a chance that you would buy or not. Facebook is a good way to contact them.

Didn't ask if I could share photos online with others, so I'm not really keen on posting all their stuff. Especially when I know some is personal collection of the owners (which they are sometimes willing to sell from).

They look nice. Unfortunately that is too much out of my way to acquire them.

Sorry! Not much regarding Aloes in stores around here I don't think. There is always import if you have $$$ and get a permit. Or trading with other collectors.

I only have A. maculata, A. rauhii, A. juvenna, A. variegata...(+few more but not sure about the names :)

Nametaken - I have just A. descongii, A. 'Crosby's Prolific', and an A. rauhii + A. variegata from Rina.

CCC - If you are looking for anything else just let us know! I think many have been all over the place in search of interesting succulents and maybe a few extras in our own collections too. Especially come spring time. =)

Ill make a list and pics of the aloes I currently have. Im sure you have the species I have but Im going to post anyway. Maybe we could trade.

I looked everywhere for plicatilis recently. I remember a year ago walmart or homedepot had it, I just dont remember where. I searched the stores around the Brampton area and when I drove to Florida I searched stores there too. No luck. I didnt have time to go to nurseries there either.

hello Dini, that is not an P. oviferum, but rather a hybrid with P. bracteosum.

eww since you are in Brampton I guess we could meet up someday if you want to sell/trade the two aloe I mentioned. The only aloe I have that I can trade is the Aloe "Christmas Carol" which Im sure you and everyone have, its common. I also have an aloe that looks like its a native of Florida, since I got it from there. It looks like your common aloe. Not sure if you are interested in that. It does not look that great.

That is A. maculata (aka soap aloe). It grows quite large and pups easily...

Nametaken - I am okay for aloe for now, thanks for the offer. They grow so big so I'm limiting myself to the dwarf types only.

Also located in Oakville East/West Mississauga. Not quite Brampton but not that far either.

With all that driving I could have made it to Burlington or Hamilton *sigh*
Maybe I'll just wait a couple weeks... being eager beaver here... also day off no kids... lol ;P

CCC, I was at the Mississauga location three weeks ago. Same as you: big disappointment. Compared to last year, they had decreased the succulent area, replacing a succulent table with bonsai. In my Hamilton area, Harpers in Ancaster, Terra on Hw 20, Terra on Hw 6 are the best. Have you looked in Jade Gardens in/near Oakville? Not big, but nice plants, including enormous jades. Crystal Star is a treasure, but not truly set up for retail sales. Not a place where you freely browse and drive away without buying anything.

Actually I've been to Jade Gardens 3x in 2 weeks. Haha... I like their selection...that's where I got my baby furries yesterday:) not sure if they'll get more selection in and the back area isn't open yet. (Couple weeks) not sure what they usually have back there.

Terra Milton is ok not too exciting tho. Some baby plugs... I have a feeling most of what they had was potted up into shallow pots and sold as variety

Thats why I was out exploring today. i didn't know about Crystal Star. (Not on GPS :P) but you say I can't just stop buy? Like not an actual store/garden centre?

We'll I may consider Hamilton, west end, after my failed attempt today.

I was also in Scarborough the other day. Stopped by Valleyview. Not much just yet. Most of their succulents are still in the restricted area, not ready yet...had to ask :p Wanted to fit in Kim's but had no time. :(
