I am trying to hook up a new sprinkler valve. I have done this often but this time I ran into a new challenge. the 1 inch pvc coming out of the ground has an OD of 35mm my new schedule 40 pvc OD is 33mm. My couplers are also 33mm so the larger pipe will not fit. I tried sanding the larger pipe down but after 45 minutes I decided to ask for help. There is NO way the 35mm pipe will fit in a 33mm hole!! Any advice? Is there an adapter or a tool that I could grind down the pipe coming out of the ground?? Thanks everyone :)
