Need opinions on recessed/surface mount med cabinets

Lindsay

We are remodeling our second floor (plan below.)

The master bathroom (207) has the vanity in an alcove and was given the space for 2 recessed medicine cabinets. The back alcove wall is shared with the hall bathroom (208), impeding one medicine cabinet in the hall bath from being recessed. A few questions:

1. Should the master bath have the recessed med cabs, since it's the master and should theoretically be more refined?

2. Or, since the master vanity is in an alcove, should we surface mount there since it'll be somewhat obscured and recess in the hall bath where it'll be more exposed?

3. Better design options I am not considering.

Both vanities are 60".

Thank you!

PS: Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer who makes a medicine cabinet that matches a mirror in case we decide to recess the one cab in the hall bath and just put a surface mounted mirror for the other? I was hoping Robern would with their M Series, but they are off by 3/4". Big deal or am I splitting hairs?
