    Looks like horsetail reed

    That is what it is. It can be invasive depending on where you live/climate...great looking, the reed itself is actually hollow.

    Giant horsetail (Equisetum giganteum) be sure to keep it in contained beds or containers, It spreads vigorously in warmer climates. Do not let them go to seed.
