Do you have a rototic vacuum cleaner and how do you like it

I have concrete floors in a large home that gets very dusty. I also have parrots. I like my floors to be clean, and so I sweep and vacuum common areas before work and before I got to bed every night. It really doesnt take long, but it'd be nice to have some of the less common areas cleaned as well.

I noticed that the vet's office has a deebot running around.

For a large home, do I need two of these machines?

Any recommendations for one that will actually grab seeds? I use a cordless Dyson and it cannot grab the seeds. It is very good at getting dust up though.

Thanks!

I do not like mine. It stops at the merest hint of an "obstacle" and just sits there. I finally gave up on using it. I was so excited to get it, but now don't understand how people get them to do the job they are supposed to do.

I have a Neato. I love her. I set her on a schedule and just have her do half the house per day.

It is astonishing how much dirt and dust she picks up every time. And yes, there's a few places in my house she tends to get stuck unless I mitigate the spot ahead of time. She shut herself in the bathroom too, like someone else said. I assume she was running along the wall, got behind the door, and pushed it shut. Poor thing. When I got home, she was softly beeping, nearly out of battery charge, inside the closed bathroom.

I too am in the market for a robotic vacuum cleaner. I am not sure which brand and model is best.

Rocky, I hope you get some good info and recommendations. I deal with cat litter for the most part. I also have cat hair tumble weeds. lol

The only problem with robotic vacuums is that they don't empty their own bins or clean their own brush rolls.

    :-D

I have one of the first Roombas that came out and it just died. Refused to hold a charge. I find that happens with all rechargable appliances. $200 wasted.

But I did enjoy watching it roam around. Very Zen. I had to redirect it a lot when it got stuck. It was a fun toy at best.

Love my Neato. I have the pet and allergy model. It does a great job. It's very interesting to watch it get the room mapped out then go to work. If it runs low it stops goes back to the base to charge then it goes right exactly back to where it stopped and begins working till it finishes up the mapped space. It is pretty darn smart. I would definitely recommend a Neato.

This is what mine looks like. It's a year or so old. It actually holds quite a bit of debris in the container. The filters are very nice and easy to use. I did a lot of research before choosing it. I watched some very good you tube videos comparisons of it and roomba and a few others.

By the way it has never got stuck it can work it's way out of tight spots. I don't leave any loose throw rugs out it could suck up. It does not go in random movements like the roomba it goes in a straight line just like you would vacuum. It's basically like a vacuum with out the upright handle. So on carpet you can see the path just like as if you had vacuumed it.

Thanks! This is all great information. Does anyone know if their cleaner can pick up things like bits of cereal? Raven - that video was great. Thank you!

Rocky, I have a Roomba, but don't recall the model number. I do recall it was the highest end product. Waste of money, as Susan said. That was an interesting video,Raven.

I have a Neeto. It will get cereal and seeds. It will pick up smaller Legos but bigger ones (4 bumps and up) will jam the beater bar (it's easy to unjam). It can eat a paper napkin but not a sock.

Stupid thing picks up stuff that my Miele upright doesn't.

You'll still have to hit the baseboards with a broom every so often.

Yes the Neato will pick up seeds and crumbs from dog crunchies lol. It really does a great job.

I have a robotic cleaner but I just the intelligent robot a little bit stupid > <. I often let it cleaning when I go out. But when I come back, the robot cleaner just stay beside the edge of my sofa and buzz. When I turn it to another direction, it continues working and then stops again under the desk. It still leave some places uncleaned. I think I have to get a new vacuum cleaner, maybe a cordless one which is portable and easy to use with handheld design.
