I have the wire baskets, and while I prefer the look of wood and was pretty hesitant about the wire, I have to say they are very good. I suppose it boils down the individual manufacturer and what the quality of their product is.
I hope you find one that is suitable and that others chime in.

Hi Eztia, I have exclusively wire today but will likely do a mix in my next kitchen. I love that wire make cleaning a breeze, but 8 years later it's started to sag and pull a bit where I keep my heavy pots and pans.

I had wire ones in my old place - worked efficiently ! might be tempted to go with roller ball fitting ones if you can - they tend to cost more - but they require less effort to open and close !

I've always had wood pull outs. They are nice but you lose a lot of storage space with them because of how they are mounted. The wire ones might not - I'd look into it. Definitely go with roller ball slides.

@Angela. No. I will have my handyman, who is a carpenter, do the work.

The house I bought has a lot of those lower wooden drawers. In the beginning, I obsessed about the space lost in the side gaps with the cabinet walls .. but it's more than overcome by the storage & access all the way to the back! I would always prefer the solid wood to wire, because things are more stable sitting there, and can't get caught in the bottom or sides. I'm not too thrilled with the #1 photo you have, where there's nothing on the sides to keep things from accidentally being pushed from one side .. and out the other.

Now that I'm used to the pull-outs, I could never go back to the old fixed shelves on the bottom .. down on my knees hunting for things lost in the dark recesses of a shelf!

I would try to see if you can do both wood and wire but more wood because of stability issue.
