Seacoast living is usually accompanied by very bright light, unless one is in foggy Maine. And that bright light is going to wash out your chosen colors and make the room drab and dull. Go for brighter blues and crisp whites.

If you do a coral pattern rug, I wouldn't also do coral-patterned pillows.

I agree with coral pattern to only be used once, so maybe yes on the rug but not on pillows as well. The difference between the first and second sets of images seems only in scale and somewhat inconsequential so choose whichever makes more sense. If you're happier with the soft aqua and cream colors, I think that's fine even though a darker blue and white would have a nice crisp feel.

I like the colors chosen but as anglo said, in a room they will look washed out, unless you add some good punches of color.

I like the first rug and art combo. I like the color palate. Unless I'm missing something, did the OP mention coral anywhere?

I was thinking of doing a distressed type of wood for a coffee table? Yes? Like one of these 2 types?

So you guys think if I'm doing the coral rug and artwork, I should stick with solid color pillows? No more coral pattern.. can any other pattern work as I have shown in the pillow pics above?

Definitely you can use other patterned pillows but I would think about using solid ones in a brighter or darker blue also. I really like the second coffee table with metal. I wouldn't go so beachy that it becomes a cliche. You might tire of that look fairly quickly.

So geometric prints for pillows are okay to use if I go with a coral design rug? And it's okay to do different shades of the aqua seafoam blue color? I was concerned this would look mismatched but it sounds like it's okay to do?

Funny! I was going to ask if you were considering distressed wood. I like the bottom table with the metal. Definitely mix up your pillows, the coral print, striped, I like the one you posted, white with gold around the edges? And then some sea foam solid colour, maybe with texture?

Here are some suggestions on some throw pillows for the color scheme you are going for.

Melrose your instincts are all good. I especially like your first two pillows with either of the combinations above it. As a scuba diver, the first one speaks to me of the strange and beautiful undersea world without screaming anemone. I like that your references aren't too literal. Trust your eye and choose what appeals to you.
