It was a high gloss paint, and unfortunately the clients were artists and picked all the colors themselves so I do not have the exact shade they used. Benjamin Moore Navajo Red is a similar color.

It's actually Hollandlac Brilliant, British Red from Fine Paints of Europe

I didn't even realize you could paint a fireplace like this. Is there any special primer or treatment necessary prior to painting? Thx
