My favorite chair for reading. It's actually a brighter green than this picture shows, but it's a gloomy morning here.

Green is probably my favourite colour and DH's too, so we have quite a lot! In hand-coloured prints......

I was born and raised in beautiful, lake-filled, GREEN Michigan and so it was a hard adjustment to the not-so-green New Mexico. But, I've adapted and now live surrounded by thousands of acres of pinon pine and juniper trees . . . which do stay green year round at least (LOL). I've just taken these a few minutes ago.

It's on the east side of the Sandia Mountains (east of Albuquerque through the pass and then north a bit). But, I did want to show you some actual GREEN here in New Mexico (LOL)! I love Paa-ko's views!

My 3dogs, I feel the same way about the drought. Last year was devastating.

we found this sink on a stand on Craigslist..somebody's late father made it..then the GC figured out how to attach it to the wall since it didn't have any hardware to allow for that..he asked his ironsmith aquaintance to make it(and to paint too since it was rusty from storage). We worn him out with our love for vintage, and handmade..he mostly took it in stride lol

I've been a little under the weather and a little overwhelmed with a work transition, so haven't "played" the last couple of days. Surely I have a house picture on my computer that features something green in it though ...

OK - here's our master bedroom, where I've used some green "seaglass" shades.

Green figured in big in my previous home's décor. Almost all of the walls were painted Guilford Green. Here's the kitchen:

It may seem crazy (it does to my DH) but I actually really love the dark green carpet in our stairway! (and the little oil paintings that you all helped me with picking out the frames)

I also am pretty happy with the rug in it's new spot and the pictures above them. I am thinking of moving the green vase though.

I made these to replace the hand-painted drapes I had before, which needed to be relined. I thought it was easier to make new ones, and I used fabric that I got from work.

Boopadaboo doesn't sound crazy at all:) while house hunting we saw a very cute house, all the upstairs carpet was green..and you know what? if we did buy it I wouldn't change it..would work with it

(we didn't buy it..for all its cuteness, great kitchen and all-it had zero privacy..literally 2 feet between you and the neighbors..very irritating, especially when you're supposed to pay around 700K for the house, plus 3 different types of HOA each month..)

Thanks, Bonnie Ann! My counter top is Cambria quartz, Kensington, which is in the green color group. I think granite looks better (it's shinier, anyway), but the quartz is easier to take care of. BTW, the upholstery you show that has hibiscus flowers and banana leaves is similar to the upholstery/slip covers we had in our green living room in San Francisco! Ours was 1940s vintage fabric that my roommate found.

The entry room is painted a soft green.

dedtired, I really like the SW Lemongrass. Might just have to find a room to use that color in. Billie is almost 11, totally deaf, but is our constant companion! Thank you.

I posted part of my dining room already, but here it is again. I picked this green color from the drapery fabric and have loved it ever since. BM Woodland Hills Green. I call it a "happy" green.

Vintage sofa again, but our LR walls are SW Halcyon Green.

I painted the guest BR SW Celery, but now I am not particularly fond of it. After reading that it is a color that is used a lot in baby and children's rooms, I lost interest a bit. I do use another bedding set for every day, since it ends up being a cat bed. We have thought about taking out this guest bedroom since we've had guests 3 times in 11 years and use it for either a workout space or music listening (and DH for guitar). It just seems like a bad use of space since we never use it.

My living room chairs - armless, but sooooo comfortable

...and a collage of Parisian items. I've loved lilies of the valley since I was a pre-teen and collected the container, the Lalique perfume bottle, and the Limoges tray on various trips to France. The print is a birthday card from a friend acknowledging my love for all things French (my first college major) and my completely unruly hair.

I didn't get online until this evening, so no chance at getting a shot outdoors. Instead you get my pottery collection. It's Brush-McCoy New Art Vellum from the 1930s. I think I have 21 or 22 forms. I try to keep an eye out for forms I may not have, but I believe I may have them all. Sorry for the poor quality photo on the second bunch. My iPad camera is sub-optimal.

Jak4, that looks like a rather small pot for such a large banana tree. I've had banana trees send new shoots out four feet from the mother plant, and we have to mow them down when we mow the yard when they go out too far. From my experience, banana trees only live for two years, but they put out new shoots each year. When your plant puts out new growth, you will have to repot it, I think. It's a beautiful plant, but I'm not used to seeing them indoors!

Lars, I grew this banana from seed. It is about five years old. Has never bloomed probably because it doesn't get a long season here (Ontario, Canada) but I don't think this variety pups; I think it grows small inedible fruit with large seeds.

DH and my brother removed a 1950s air conditioner from the wall in our dining room. Small wonder none of the previous owners took it out; it was rusted in place and weighed around 100 pounds. DH handily framed the hole inside and out, installed plain glass on the outside, and put a stained glass panel (from eBay) on the inside. Major improvement!
