Sick of neutral! What color sofa?

This is actually for a guest loft, so not everyday use. The room is a large open loft apartments so you can see the bed and living area all together. I already have the bedding and rug thanks to Ballard outlet nearby.

I love this sofa from IKEA, I can get it in one color and buy a second set of covers to change out. I'm trying to decide between the yellow, green and blue.

Yellow sofa

Green sofa

Navy sofa

I love the yellow for summer, so should I get navy or green for winter?

Or should I get over myself and go with a neutral gray or cream?

I looked at it last weekend. The yellow is very pretty; I'd go with the blue for winter; it's less hunting lodge IMO

Yay, color! I'm a rebel, so I would say yellow summer AND winter. Why not? The other day I had a hankerin for my favorite key lime icecream and they told me it was "seasonal," and they wouldnt have it again til next summer! I dont get it- even if it was cold now (its not, its still 70-80) so what, how is key lime any more "seasonal" than chocolate or strawberry or butter pecan or any other ice cream flavor?

I also think the yellow relates better to the other elements esp the black and white/

But then the practical side of me says yellow might stain too easily. I think the green would be good - yeah, it would add a bit more "lodginess" (is that a word) to the room, but there is so much else going on in the room I think youd be OK.

I like the yellow. I don't think it's just a summer color. Who doesn't get a hankering for the sun as winter wears on? I don't care for the green at all, so I'd pick the navy as a second color.

If you get the yellow, I think you need to pull more yellow into the room in other places, like art (all I see now is a tiny bit in the ottoman). If you do that, I think the yellow can work. Otherwise, I like the blue.

Yes, yellow with a spare yellow cover!

Yellow with a spare yellow cover ... because the green one looks like a display area at a Cabela's and the navy is too dark and vanishes into the rug.

    Some yellow accents

Blue. I honestly think it goes with pretty much everything.

Blue will be my next sofa or sectional color.

Yellow with a second cover in green or blue for when you drop your chocolate ice cream cone on the sofa. Oh wait a minute, maybe that is just advice for me . . .

    What is on the floor?

I vote for blue sofa with the bedding. I think it would be easier to work with if you ever decided to change bedding.

Depending on your answer on flooring, thinking a yellow chair. Red looks a bit heavy handed.

The ottoman has been covered in a Robert Allen fabric…thinking a pillow in that fabric would be cute on the yellow chair.

Blue is actually a neutral. With blue, you can have a neutral without it looking neutral. Think how versatile blue jeans are.

Thanks so much for the input, everyone. The flooring is oak, the walls and ceiling are knotty pine. Here's a pic with the previous owners furniture.

I have a second set of bedding for summer in butter yellow and white, also from Ballard. This image shows the actual chair in its current fabric I am having it recovered so thought it would look nice in red and wanted to bring the red in from the rug. But yellow would look nice with the wood. The drapes shown in the yellow and white animal print will be on the four poster bed, not doing drapes on the rest of the windows, just blinds.

I was just proposing a yellow chair but saw I'm too late. If you need an extra chair, the IKEA Strandmom is yellow and very comfortable.

I can't wait to see the room!

do you have that rug? the reviews are mixed, but I LOVE it. I was thinking of ordering the runners for my kitchen.

I like the IKEA chair a lot….my daughter just put in her order for one. I am a bit concerned the yellow isn’t quite right. But, it is easy enough to check (if you have an IKEA within reasonable driving distance.)

Boopadaboo, I do have the rug. I really like it. It does not have a backing so requires a pad.

JudyG, I do love that chair but I have a surplus of nice, comfy, in good condition chairs. I will have to recover something I already have. Luckily there are two very large fabric places nearby so I will go get some samples and find something sturdy!
