buying new kitchen appliance package

We are getting ready to buy a complete kitchen package and would like to go with one brand. I thought I was interested in Kitchen Aid but have read a lot of bad reviews with refrigerators. I have been looking at Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid and GE, maybe Bosch. I know I can get a Bosch dishwasher without handle so it would match other appliances. So many reviews my head is swimming!! Any advice on what to choose or not? TIA

I think you should shop for each appliance on its merits and not try to buy all the same brand.......I believe no one makes everything well, and I think that if you try to pick one brand you really won't get the best appliances for your needs.

So far the Bosch dishwasher or a Miele are good choices. Nothing Kitchenaid with their 1 year warranty. Bosch has a good slide-in induction range.

Don't buy a package of appliances. As said already, better to mix them and get which brand makes the best of a particular appliance.

Don't worry about handles not matching. No one cares. In fact, some people think that having all-matching appliances is only what mass-housing developers do when buying appliances by the truckload; it's cheaper for developers to buy that way, and the thousand homes' kitchens can be built quickly since all the appliances are identical. The exception to that viewpoint is people buying all Miele, all Gaggenau, or all Wolf-Subzero. But you are not looking in that price stratosphere.

I am getting a combination of Miele, Wolf and Subzero. I lose out on a promotion by mixing brands, but I picked each appliance independently based on my needs/wants. Don't be afraid to mix brands.

I just counted and in my current kitchen, the 5 main appliances are from 5 different brands (DCS, Kitchenaid, Thermador, Miele & ULine). No one would notice, unless they are actively remodeling/building a kitchen!

Friedajune, I still mixed. I have Gaggenau, Miele, Monogram, Wolf and Marvel. People only buy all of one if the designer chooses the appliances or if they're buying the name rather than function, even at that level. :)

You can still get a discount if you're buying a bunch of different brands, especially from an independent appliance store, but possibly from the big chains as well. Most builders and designers are afforded a discount, but they'll also let you have the discount if you pay the store directly (the purpose is to cover their overhead, which is nothing really if they're just signing you on their number). Additionally, the store will usually bargain with you if they don't have other discounts. They could give you free delivery and installation, or a free dishwasher, for instance, even if they can't give discounts on the appliances themselves.
