To backsplash or not to backsplash.

My new kitchen has no backsplash, and I'm debating on if I should leave it as is or install one. If I end up not installing one I think there may need to be something on the wall above the stove as it looks a bit empty to me. Thoughts?
In the event that I decide on a backsplash, any suggestions on what would look nice other than plain white subway tile? I've been looking at some fish scale / herringbone tile, I'd like something funky and unique. Perhaps some sort of separate design above the stove to add interest?

6 years agoBacksplash is a very nice way to highlight your kitchen, to make a design statement or just fill in the empty space. I think it's even more important in white kitchens. White gives you an opportunity to be as creative as you desire. So be bold! Incorporate any design and any color you want.
