Thanks! The long hallway from the entry to the kitchen was actually designed as a gallery space complete with museum quality lighting. We also purposely confined most of the art pieces to the public areas of the house and so the lower level walls are intentionally cleaner. The display of art was a key design consideration in this house and you are the first commentator to bring this up. Thanks for your question!

The dark woodwork in the rest of the house has been painted white and that is the plan for this room. Doors will be replaced with 6-panel ones painted white too. The blue color will not stay either; probably re-paint a medium to dark gray which will go nicely with the white trim. We got away from the waterbed years ago but my husband is reluctant to give up the headboard and the under-bed storage. So, baby steps to renovate the room. :-)

Geez, I forgot to tell you all about the PB jewelry cloche. I had ordered it in October and it was back ordered until April. It finally came last week and guess what...the inside part that holds the necklaces was bent and crooked. I was bent out of shape myself when I saw it!!! I called them and they were already sold out and so couldn't replace it. Seems I have had so many quality control issues with PB. So, back to the drawing board with something for my dresser.

ok, np then. I would spend time searching on line for an area rug that you both fall in love with! Use the color and pattern as inspiration for everthing else in the room. I would place the area rug under the bed but touching the front of your nightstands and extending to the right edge of your glass doors to the outside. Right now the rug looks like it is floating in the room. Anchoring is needed (no pun intended! :). Plus it is always nice to get out of bed and have your feet hit a soft carpet!
