Looking for a warm beige, light tan, or greige but

I don't want it to have a pink or green tinge, is that possible?

If it helps, I like the neutrality of Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray and find that it has no tinges of other colors like, for example, Sherwin Williams African Gray which looks slightly purple to me sometimes. I need something more in the light brown family rather than gray though for this room.

MAYBE I could deal with a green tinge if needed (as I read it could work well with dark wood floor) but definitely not pink.

Picture of your room, please, and from where does the natural light come?

My upstairs is painted Mindful Grey (started with Dorian grey and quickly realized it was a mistake). Downstairs I wanted more of a beige, I went with Shitake and I absolutely love it. It looked very grey when I was painting it over the old builder pinky beige and I got a little scared but once I got all that covered it looks fantastic. My woodwork is a medium cherry.

Please excuse the mess. It's currently painted a FLAT dingy off white color. It's a small, awkwardly shaped basement. That is the only window in the room. There is sliding mirrored door closet on one side. I have samples Accessible Beige, Canvas Tan, and Neutral something or other in the corner now. They all look quite cool and gray to me most of the day. For lack of a better description, Accessible Beige looks pastel burgundy sometimes if that's possible. Maybe a warm but not dark or too yellow tan of some sort?? Any decorating advice would also be appreciated but perhaps that should be for another post?

We used SW Repose Gray in basement bedrooms with no natural light and in an office with north light. Both look great!

I actually have a Repose Gray sample somewhere from trying to decide on a bedroom color. I'll try it here!

I'll try anything. I'm really lost on this. What to do about the molding... Leave it white?

By the way, we are considering putting a dark gray loveseat in there or maybe light gray chairs.

What if you went dark, like a dark blue?

Also, I'd check out www.kylyminteriors.com for suggestions on dark basements, either light or dark color suggestions.

I'm willing to try dark blue but concerned it will make the room feel even smaller? I'm not sure my husband is willing yet. I will look at that website. I had previously seen one of her interesting videos on Youtube.

Yes, leave the molding and trim white.

    What's your favorite color?

I ask because in a dark space, you're better off painting a rich color. For example, I had a bathroom with no natural light. My favorite color is red so I painted the walls a brick red color and the room never looked too dark or dingy.

The half bathroom down there is painted a dark teal/blue and it seems to work well there. I'm still thinking about samples to try. I should have entitled this thread "Please help decide on a color" because I'm not so sure anymore.

    What about a teal?

I like a sample of SW Sea Salt but my husband doesn't like it so far. I like Comfort Gray too. Even SW Austere Gray looks nice. It's so hard to decide.
