Just curious.....everyone still love their esale rugs?

So many of you have purchased the polypropylene rugs online from esale.....how are they doing? We have made the decision to tear up carpeting and go with LVP on the entire top floor of our beach house. We will need three large rugs to minimize noise and would like something comfortable underfoot that can also stand up to pets and spills. Is polypropylene the answer?

I am happy with my polypropylene rugs. I love that they are inexpensive and that I can drag them outside and hose them off when they get dirty. There are some here that have noticed that they seem to grab dirt more than wool rugs but I haven't noticed it.

Have you seen the suggestion that if you find a rug online that you order the smallest available to make sure you like the rug? A small rug is much easier to return.

I do have a couple of the polypropylene rugs, one I got from Overstock, one from Amazon. I will say that they look better in the photos. I think in person there is no mistaking they are synthetic. They have a shininess to them that my wool rugs don't have. One of the rugs is a runner I use in my kitchen. I love the look of an oriental in the kitchen but I wasn't about to spend several hundred on a rug that could get spaghetti sauce dripped on it. The other is in my bedroom. I haven't noticed any staining or poor wear. I will say that our household consists of two adults that don't wear outdoor shoes inside and a small decorous calico cat. I can't say how they would hold up with children or large dogs.

Thanks for your comments. d_gw, that is such a great suggestion to order a small version of the rug first! I was ready to order one yesterday, but even with free shipping, the thought of dealing with, returning a large rug gave me pause. sloedjinn, I have been wondering about the synthetic fibers and how they look IRL. In photos they look fantastic and so many GW'ers who seem pretty discriminating have been happy with their appearance. It may be that some colors and styles look better than others. Your decision to use polypropylene for the kitchen sounds absolutely spot on! (no pun intended)

If you are looking to order 3 large rugs and are concerned about the quality, I would definitely order a small one as a sample. This would also be helpful in seeing how the colors match the online pictures. I am sure you could find a spot to use it if you decided the quality was good enough to keep or it would not be a hassle to return a small one. I would not want to have to return 3 large rugs. I have a large, 11x13 polypropylene area rug in my great room. The quality is excellent and it has worn very well. I didn't order it online though. We went to a rug shop and were able to see a smaller version of it, so that helped a lot, that's why the suggestion to order a sample rug.

I have 3 esale rugs, and am very happy with them. With 2 large dogs and 3 cats, it's easy to clean up the pet messes, and have held up to the dogs playing on them. I've had them for over a year now.

I have two esale rugs. One is in a bedroom and looks great but doesn't get much traffic. The other is inside the back door. It picks up a lot of dirt, etc. but most shakes right out and the rest washes off with water. Very pleased.
