We are building a new house in Wisconsin and the builder did not allow enough room on the wall the wall oven and microwave should have been placed on. As a result we will be placing the cooktop on a counter which originally was supposed to be all countertop. We did not have any cabinets above this area so we did not plan on having an exhaust fan above the cooktop,. We are now told by code we will have to install one. Does anyone know if we can install a bathroom type fan above the cooktop in the ceiling? Any ideas would be helpful. Unfortunately the cooktop is on an exterior wall that faces the front of the home.
