The faux leather stuff is usually very cheap quality and likely won't last.

You could try vinyl.

No their is a difference in vinyl and leather like synthetics. Vinyl is used more in commercial type seating and far outlasts any type of leather like bonded/synthetic/faux material.

Vinyl is hot plastic and you are sitting on oil basically...maybe what you would prefer is a natural fabric like linen or cotton or wool in a conservative color that hides puppy hair.

Thanks for the information. I was looking at Flexsteel furniture online and it looked like they had some vinyl coverings that look similar to leather.

I wish we could get something that could hide the dog hair, but not possible in our house, we have two white dogs and one large black dog.

I can tell you that I love my Flexsteel. It has a lifetime warranty and is very easy to move for cleaning because the steel frame is so much lighter than wood. It's ten years old and the foam has held up incredibly well. I just had a slipcover made for it because I had 3 kids and now have 2 dogs and a cat and the upholstery wasn't great anymore. Part of that was the upholstery I chose at the time but there are many more options now. Mine has a tight back, which I love because I never have to worry about fluffing up saggy cushions. When I need to buy a new sofa, I'll go right back to Flexsteel.
