Do you want to replace the side light at the same time? It sort of looks like the door and side light are one unit.

    Here are some on Pinterest.

The grid piece in the side light is removable. I was wanting to use the solid glass side light and replace the door only, if possible. I'm open to all ideas, though.

How dark is the room that the door opens into? You may need the door glass to keep your room bright. Have you considered just painting the door that is there?

I really want to have a stained door. It's not dark at at all because the foyer opens to a fireplace with French doors on each side.

How about a stained dutch door?

A stained door? How will anyone even find your front door when it's the same as the house?

We just had part of our house painted teal (very similar to aqua), and the painter told me that a lot of people are painting the front doors that color now. I also love your current door and think you only need to paint it.

I wasn't wanting it to be a dark stain. Any other color suggestions besides aqua if my husband doesn't go for that?? Would teal work??

Yes teal would work as well as most colors. I like Monet blue myself. It's soo beautiful.

With the house color and the roof color (which has a large presence), I would also steer clear of a stained door. Even if it is a light stain color, it is just more brown. There are a lot of colors that would work... Maybe pulling a color from the brick porch to tie that in. A color in the blue range, as mentioned above, would also work. You might consider painting out the window trim, as the white is not working and will work even less once the door color is changed. Choose a color in the same color family as the siding and roof, only lighter.

With the wide trim I don't think you need shutters. You could always go warmer with the color, something like a pumpkin would look pretty in your setting. You might look at either of these.
