I am getting ready to place a big-ish home depot order (promo ends today) and I want to buy the tools I need to fix plumbing problems that may recur.

Here is what I need to fix:

1. kitchen faucet spout leak
2. kitchen faucet handle leak
3. shower faucet valve leak
4. Shower drain plug lever stuck?
5. Install bathroom faucet on new sink
6. turn off water at meter
7. clean out bathroom sink p traps

Here is what I plan to buy:

1. Sink drain wrench 6 inch (may not be needed)
2. channellock pliers 12 inch
3. needle nose pliers 6 inch
4. strap wrench 8 inch

I have screwdrivers, regular pliers, hammer, etc., plumbers tape and replacements parts from manufacturers. I think I was advised against using plumber’s grease but feel free to comment on that.

Is there anything else I should add to the tool buy order that might come in handy for doing my own repairs? I will call a pro for water main issues, soldering and anything inside a wall.

BTW, is there an easy fix for a small washing machine leak? The machine is almost 30 years old (avg 3 loads per week) and the leak seems to be at the bottom - not in the hose connection. I assume it is the machine and cost-prohibitive to fix, but I thought I’d ask. Top loader, tile floor over concrete slab. I’m guessing it maybe leaks only an ounce or two per wash and I don’t feel the need to pay to have it fixed.

Anything I buy can be returned if I don’t need it.
