This is a problem for most people but I have not heard of any king of corner protection maybe something like what they use on cabinet corners might not look too bad.

You need an ''insert'', and it needs to be purchased first so that the cabinet maker can work around it. Your hood will need to be 30'' from your cooking surface, so be sure to purchase an inser that is wider and deeper than the cooking surface to aid in the capture of the cooking grease and steam.

I'm also going to put in a new countertop (maybe Quartz, backsplash,and new flooring since there is currently carpet. The kitchen has a bit of a country French / traditional look. Not sure what colors for counter, backsplash, and wood floor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

OK, so with no point of reference mine is apparently all except #1 as it is built into a wall mounted custom cabinet. We have a peninsula and an island, neither of which are associated to the range or vent hood.
