Cabinet photo found on a resale site. Site owner says it was purchased from a model home in Charleston, SC 6 years ago, but does not have any markings or identification as to manufacturer. I'd love to purchase one!! Thanks.

There are a lot of ideas on the Internet on how to make your own barn door. I would use some tongue and groove boards, glued together heavily...

lizmallon, That entire set-up in that pic cost me about 100 bucks. I got the door off of Craigslist and painted it, and sprayed the glass to look like mirrors. (door was $25!) Standard door height is usually 78-80". this door was 30" wide. make sure you measure your opening and get a door that's 2-6" wider. As for the height, you see the hardware on mine? You can adjust it a few inches up or down to make the door fit exactly.(obviously you don't want it lower than the opening). so here is what it looked like at first. It used to be a swinging door. Had to fill in the hinge part I removed, but no big deal. Sprayed the glass and then painted it blue. Didn't like the blue, so I ended up doing the black over it. (I used milk paint both times) eBay has the best prices that I've found so far. The one above I actually got from a guy who was selling them on Craigslist. But the second one I got for the double doors I ordered off of eBay. They will slide from the outside in..here is what it currently looks like (still working on everything!) this will be the water closet. the sliding bar will be placed right around where you see the top of the door header. Toddlers love to find ways around any obstacle! :) They are the greatest escape artists. Thankfully there are a few Lock systems out now that our clients have used that may help you as well (we don't sell them) ...some as simply as a hook and eye-latch that will keep the door from being just pulled straight open. There are more advanced options that can be attached to almost any barn door system that have locks and keys with a bolt. Very cool advancements in this area.
