Hi olgahicks, I've found Panasonic fans to be the quietest and most reliable from many other brands I've tried over the years on our projects. They make several with lights, and some even have built-in night lights. If the supplied fittings can't support the weight of the fan, that is bizarre. How did you make that determination? What assumptions did you make? Did the mfr give requirements for support? I'd call the manufacturer's rep right away and get him/her onsite if at all possible. Second choice is whoever you bought it from....they should be willing to support. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding with what goes where. But if your husband is a builder and can't figure this out, how could anyone else? Some kind of super builder with super powers? Bottom line, get Pando to own this and walk you through it.
