just finished renovating and updating my Den. Need advice.

just finished redoing my Den. It looks awesome. Used a perfect greige color paint. Where is before it was two tone navy blue and peach. Definitely was eighties LOL. there are some photos here all the finished product. what I need are some ideas for above my desk on the wall that I am showing. keep in mind I have a mid wall trim that existed before which still looked good so I kept up. I frosted my windows three-quarters of the way up and I am awaiting a black window topper or the top of the window. no Frou Frou toppings. I have included a picture of it too. Ideas for this wall? I am also talking on LEDs around the back of my desk which will look phenomenal. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you saying your den has been renovated into a home office, or am I missing something? Your pictures seem dark to me, but I think the office needs additional lighting, artwork, a rug and some greenery. Do you have a filing cabinet? I outgrew pretty quickly the storage space in my desk and wish I'd purchased something more functional over something that seemed so contemporary.

Was there supposed to be a pic of a black window topper?

Do you mean taping LEDs around the back of your desk? Do you have an inspiration photo of that? I can't quite picture it.

Do you work from home? I do, and my room has large rugs on top of the hardwood floors, art objects that interest me; basically I decorate it as I would any other room in the house. What are your interests? I'd want to have a bit more color in the room, but you may not. Have you seen home offices online that you like the looks of? Here are some pics of home offices - do you see any that appeal to you as far as decor? HOME OFFICES

thank you for your re responses. Yes I have a Topper coming. I ordered one. As for being dark in there it really isn't I just happen to take the pictures at night with a tablet that didn't have his could a camera on it LOL. Going to attach a couple more from my phone. as for the hutch I did take the hutch off the corner where the monitor is. It was partly blocking my window. The desk was not purchased recently. It was existing and I felt I didn't need to replace it considering I am just a gamer and a surfer. yes I understand the hutch is not really in anymore but I do need that small amount of space that provides which is why I chose that wall. I do definitely need color in there but I think with the topper coming that will help balance it a little bit more. The LEDs I will be putting a strip just behind my desk so I have a small Illuminating Light Behind The Desk. It does look wonderful if you want to Google LED lighting desk and look at some of the images there. the last picture that I put in was what my office or Den look like before. I used to work from home but no longer. I only game in there and surf the net when I'm bored which is almost most of the time LOL. I don't need alot of light in there because of that. I am interested in a gaming room at this point but not too glitzy

Oh, I love dog pictures! You will want to protect your floor, so you need at least one of those plastic things to roll your chair on. Put up some pictures that speak to you. In my office I have a seascape--perhaps you want those pictures you see in airplane magazines, like a man standing on top of a rock with the word SUCCESS on it and some saying. But I agree with My3Dogs--decorate the space so you enjoy being in there. That seems rather obvious, but a friend of mine told me when she was a young girl she insisted that her parents allow her to paint her bedroom a vibrant orange, and she got a headache just about every day. Get a plant that can grow anywhere like a peace lily or a philodendron. Don't worry about the hutch not being "in." It serves a function and this is what I was talking about in my earlier post.

I think this may be what you plan to do with the LEDs, many images HERE

It's just me, but it's not my style at all, but then I'm not a gamer, either! Have fun!

yes but not quite that bright LOL. I just want a little bit of light coming off the wall where it looks classy and not stupid LOL

IMO, I think some soft white lights could be prettier under the hutch, almost like under cabinet lighting, to illuminate some pretty objects on the shelf. Not sure you want to spotlight a printer though. The idea of LED lights along the desk makes me feel like it's the back office of a bar, not a classy home office or game room. I think if you have a few favorite games, I'd get some game covers made up into prints on the wall (a la movie poster style), to give the space more of a gaming 'theme', since that's your hobby. Wall color is beautiful. I would consider a different window treatment (not all black), Something like this (currently on sale at country curtains) to add a little softness. Then, scatter some greenery throughout with plants, ferns or an orchid.

yes the printer being on that Hutch is a bit much but I really have nowhere else to put it. I do need it and actually considered putting it in the closet because it is a bluetooth printer but I don't have any power in that closet. I really am trying not to over clutter it. As for the LED lighting yes it is going to be a soft light. And accent if you may. as for the topper it is a solid black but it's only about a foot in width. I am going to try and get the picture. It also has large grommets for the rod which is a one and a half inch brushed nickel which again is contemporary to modern looking.
