Looking for Mid-Priced Sectionals that don't suck

I live in the Kansas City metro area, and feel like I am dreaming about sectionals because I have looked at so many online lately. I am looking for a blue velvet sectional in a mid-price range (up to $3,500-ish). I can find what I want on Interior Define, and then I read reviews and freak myself out. I would LOVE to hear from you if you have purchased from ID, or AllModern, Anthropologie, even Wayfair, (but especially if you have experience with any customize-able site that seems too good to be true).

On the flip side, if you have other recommendations for sectionals that are on the more transitional, sleek size - I'd love to hear from you as well. Thanks all!

Kansas City must have good furniture stores so go shopping . All Modern is a good site but really you need to sit in what you buy.

All Modern is a great site. Never gotten anything bad from there. LoveSac sactionals are some of the comfiest couches I've ever sat on. What style are you looking for? Could you post a picture of something you like? And is this for looks or comfort? What are you using it for?

I have been to some local stores, but what I'm finding is very traditional, which I don't want. We have also gone to West Elm specifically to look at the Andes sectional, but didn't like the way it sat (seat depth was too long for both my husband and myself, and that was the shorter seat). My taste is eclectic - I LOVE Chesterfields and tuxedos, but could also get on board with a tight-back, bench or 2-cushion like this one:

In fact, I came across their site yesterday and love ALL of their stuff, but again, it goes back to fear of ordering something I can't sit in until after I have purchased it.

Ideally, to answer your question Emily, it would be for looks AND comfort, because it's going in our living room, the first room you see in our house, and the one where we spend the most time watching TV and relaxing. I'm about to talk myself out of a sectional (it's what we have had for 12+ years) and consider a regular sofa. Arrrggghhh!!!

Jonathan Louis has great sectionals and the cushions hold up amazing! We’ve had ours going in 10 years and the seat cushions look new. And they do have blue velvet like fabric...I was looking at their accent chairs today. Go to their website and you can find a dealer...you can configure the sectionals anyway you want.

Go to a local store or designer that carries Lee Industries, and plan to spend not less than 4 to 6 k and get it customized for style, sizing, configuration and fabric.. All that is online does in fact, usually "suck:". Out loud.

You get what you pay for.

    Crate & Barrel Sectionals

They sell many of the sectionals in a navy velvet or a light blue velvet. They also have an emerald green that's very nice and a few come in indigo. I would look specifically at the Aidan, Lounge II, Dryden, and Davis sectionals. You can order fabric swatches from them to see if you like them and sit on the non-sectional versions in a showroom to make sure they are comfortable.

    Room & Board Sectionals

Any of Room & Board's sectionals can be ordered as a custom sectional in any arrangement and with any fabric from Room & Board. I would recommend Vorto blue velvet based on the Roger & Chris sofa you provided. You can also order free fabric swatches from them.

The following come in velvet or chenille (a velvet-like fabric) without being custom.

Sterling Sectional - I would recommend vance indigo velvet

Bryce Sectional - I would recommend vitoro ink chenille

Metro Sectional - I would recommend vashon ink chenille

Morrison Sectional - I would recommend vashon ink chenille

Did you ever purchase a sofa? I would love to hear from people who purchased R&C sofas. Thanks!
