Is Buffalo Check dated???

Would love honest opinions on Buffalo Check parsons chairs to go with my large round farmhouse table?!?! It’s my formal dining room and my style is very traditional but I️ definitely do not want a look that is dated and out of style! I️ just sold my traditional formal dining set for a new look! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I️ attached a picture of the chairs I️ am contemplating!

Cannot be dated- totally timeless look. Full disclosure, I have had buffalo check in my house non stop since 1997. Just got yellow buffalo check slipcovers for my Louis XVI dining chairs.

LOVE Buffalo check. The chairs are gorgeous and it's been around forever, and show no sign of being 'dated'. I sew a lot and I think I have a stash of it in almost every color!

I love it too! I find it so versatile! I use it as an accent pattern in every room of my house. Here it is in the throw pillows and blanket in my sunroom. I just ordered window treatments for my kitchen in a wide black and white buffalo print too.

It's timeless and your DR is stunning. Colefax & Fowler still makes such a fabric.

Never. Just like toile, bouillon fringe, and cut crystal.

It is classic and totally timeless, but it is also trending right now so i expect we’ll be seeing more of it in the coming months!

Gee, I still know people who love toile (hard to find in the US but plentiful in the UK), and I still love my Colefax & Fowler bullion fringe on my sofa. It is still being used in very high end design. Crystal? That was always trendy HGTV unless it was a fabulous antique Irish crystal chandelier in a very formal DR.

Just to clarify. The question was "Is Buffalo Check dated?"

My answer is never. As in never dated. Much like toile, bouillon fringe, and cut crystal. All four are few of my very favorite things partly because I do think they are timeless and classic. Also Jazz hands and pom-pom fringe but I digress.

If I love something like checks, toile, etc., it never goes out of style to me. Oh, and I also love florals! :)

I love toile and buffalo check and all the rest. TBH, having too many French country elements can look dated but it's all in the execution.

d_gw Agree it's in the execution but these designs look beautiful in traditional rooms

Love it, as long as you don't go too French Country with it.
