How was the roof system constructed?

Are we seeing the real rafters?
If so, what sort of insulation is there in the roof system.

is the everything we see on the ceiling Faux below the rafters and a layer of insulation?

There is nothing faux - there is rigid insulation above the rafters - the tie rods hold the building walls from leaning out.

These were custom made by a steel shop per the specs of the structural engineer.

we are currently reinforcing a roof with similar tie rods and the proportions of these are great. can you tell me the width of the steel rod and if you've had any issues with sagging in the center? thank you!
