All those bands and rivets, as well as the curved shape, are going to cost real money unless you can find someone who has the skill and bids low because he wants the challenge. You might be better off buying it from one of the companies that do these as their bread and butter, like Modern-Aire.

Remember, you're also going to need the insert that does the work.

I've seen lots of great DIY hoods that range from wood to half oil drums. To get a detailed custom hood like that takes a lot of skill.

"Affordable" and "custom" usually do not go together. Affordable means it's probably mass produced and priced accordingly. Custom means unique, or one of a kind, and the price will be much higher.
