Recommendations: Microfiber Towel, for wiping down glass shower doors

last modified: 7 years ago

I squeegee & my husband wipes the shower down with a regular full size towel, after every shower. I'm wanting to buy a 2-3 microfiber towels. Is there a specific towel that you use & would recommend? What size, would be best?

Which brand of towel company, would you recommend?

The Rag Company?

(not my pic., but, we do have the Dreamline glass shower doors, w/porcelain tile & an acrylic shower pan).

Thank you.

I use a squeegee like the type used for windows after my shower before I get out.

I do too. I'm looking for a microfiber towel, though. Thank you.

Wouldn’t any microfiber towel work? I don’t like them because they all seem to be lint magnets so a regular washcloth is my follow up if needed.

I bought Norwex microfiber ($$$) and a 10 pack of microfiber towels from Menards for $14. They both do the exact same thing except I don't care if one of the Menards cloths gets washed with clothing and picks up a load of lint. I just use it for the super dirty jobs at that point.

What I'm saying is microfiber is microfiber and don't buy the expensive kind.

I use the Costco Kirkland microfiber that comes in a 36 pack. They probably won't look nice in your shower unless your colors include bright yellow! But they work well, are priced right and and as said above, there's no difference between low and high priced versions.

I love this one: Meguiar’s X2000 Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel. Bought several at amazon. (This exact one - tried the three pack by same company and didn’t care for it at all for drying the shower.)

The Miracle Cloth was highly thought of in the Kitchens forum in years past. It is the microfiber towel from the Solutions catalogue.Solutions

Nancy, those look nice but they report they are no longer available. I do like a larger towel, about twice that size. Then I can wipe the entire shower down without having to wring it out midway though the job.

I bought a huge bundle of micro fiber cloths at Costco. They are bright orange, but they do the job exceedingly well and dry quickly.

I'm a fan of the MysticMaid brand of microfiber cloths. They use a different weave than any others I have seen and seem to do a better, streak-free job of cleaning glass. They aren't cheap but do last for years.

Just chiming in in case anyone's searching for an update to this quest! ;-) I ordered several different types of towels from The Rag Co. and, long story short, I am thrilled with the Dry Me A River Korean Waffle Weave Towel! It is lightweight yet somehow absorbs SO much water, and dries within a few hours. I also like how it feels like cotton (but isn't).

I also got the much-beloved Platinum Pluffle, which works as well, but I'm not fond of the feel of microfiber (like microscopic sharks chewing my skin), and all that pluffley fluff seems to rub me the wrong way, ha. It's definitely better than the feel of cheap microfiber, but to me it feels like tiny shark teeth whipped up into a cotton candy fluff.

Also ordered a pack of 5 of the Korean blue towels, and they are more like polishing towels, so better for fixtures.

The one thing I learned through all this is how important it is NOT to use any old microfiber cloth on your glass and fixtures. Before we moved back into our remodel, I ordered a ton of microfiber cloths on Amazon, figuring they were all basically the same. NOT. You do not want to use typical cheap microfiber on fine surfaces. If you doubt it, ask someone who details premium cars for a living.

I am still using the same towels I bought about 5-6 years ago. Love these towels
