@ nnigit some family might not have the luxury of multiple bathrooms. If one bathroom has function of both toilet and shower, certainly there is a chance that one family member is taking a shower and the other suddenly need to use the bathroom. Some master bath has no door in between the sleep are and he bathroom. My master bath has a seperate toilet room with the door. But the shower is exposed to the sleeping and resting area. Some pEople might just not feel comfortable when been exposed themselves to others during their private time. I guess it's personal options.

I know and love the styles you are referring too. I believe you can blend the two. In order to blend them more easily, I'd go with the pale oak. You will be able to include the midcentury modern pieces more cohesively than if it was the frosted white Scandinavian style flooring. The frosted white has blue undertones which might clash with the *generally* honey toned mid century style woods (i.e. tapered legs on furniture pieces, etc). I've seen some Scandinavian style with the blonde wood which is why I think it'd be a happy medium between the two gorgeous and distinct styles. Sounds like a gorgeous project! Frosted - not currently on trend, so might look dated, more privacy. Still requires maintenance and may be harder to keep clean because the rough surface of the frosted side is harder wipe down. Modestly more expensive than clear glass. Clear - still "on trend", requires daily maintenance to keep mineralization (spotting) at bay (squeegee) in addition to monthly cleaning (I use barkeeper's friend followed by a vinegar rinse, then treat with Rain-X), allows light into shower, less privacy, and depending on how much glass you use - can have an unpleasant fishbowl effect.

both look similar from afar. diffused laminate is smooth on both sides thus very easy to clean. frosted is etched or sandblasted on one side. the frosted surface has a microscopic rough surface that cannot be easily cleaned. bring out the acetone, isopropanol and other noxious chemicals on a regular basis, moreover, frosted is dissimilar one side to another while laminated is not. you will need to select an outward facing side with frosted. further, laminated glass -- as a composition of 2 panes and a single interlayer -- is inherently tougher and also safer. in strong words, frosted glass is a complete effing nightmare and a waste of anyone's time to not only mount a new door, cut hinges, latches, paint and subsequent maintenance. companies should never offer or make it.
