Choosing a paint color depends on a few factors. How much natural light does the room get from windows? Are the windows on a north, south, east, or west wall? If the room has no windows, does it have good light fixtures? Do the fixtures use yellower incandescent light bulbs or bluer fluorescent lights? Florida can get very hot and humid in the summer. You might not want to use "hot" colors such as red, orange, or yellow for wall paint. Hmmm, I wonder if a color two shades lighter than the sink and toilet color on the walls would work? I am thinking that you could add bright beach towels for bath towels for a blast of color...? I do not know your style, so I am just "thinking out loud."

it is a new space, most of the home is chrome, i have existing gold towel bars and toilet paper holder to go with the faucet and purchased library visual comfort sconces but they are not installed yet but the electrical is set for this size fixture. I thought I would be able to reuse all the plumbing and was only going to purchase lighting but now I am thinking that I should replace the faucets and get different lighting. The lights do not come in chrome but do come in polished nickel. Can I mix? Is polished gold too outdated or can it still be pretty in an isolated room.

my personal mantra is always white for sinks and toilets, always chrome for bathroom fixtures. other choices can look great for 6 months but after that, ugh. same doesnt apply to kitchens, only bathrooms.

Yes, it's always nice to have the powder room colors coordinate somewhat with the other colors in the house, but the powder room is also a space that can speak for itself in a manner not seen in the rest of the house, speaking in a stronger or softer voice, in bolder or more subdued manner. After all, the door to the powder room is normally left closed. Sometimes it's nice to step in and find a surprise!
