How do I clean what i think may be "dog slobber" of my walls?

Just moved my 80yo father, his dog and cat out of our house....and all the walls in his bedroom are "spotted" up, with what I think may be dog slobber or dog snot. Any suggestions on what would work get the sports off without leaving a residue, discoloration, or rub marks on the walls? I've used a Magic Eraser before, but it left big greasy looking smudge marks everywhere I used it, and this room was just painted 5 months ago. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not magic eraser, that seems too much. I’d try a little bit of mild soap (like liquid soap) and warm water. I’d imagine it would come off with that.

I'd probably use some dish soap and water w/ a sponge or rag before trying anything else.

Unfortunately dogs do occasionally splatter things on the wall. Sometimes it's slobber or ear gunk. I just fill a bucket with water and some dish soap and scrub it off. I usually only use magic erasers when it's dog toy skid marks on the wall.

I have been using warm water, dish soap,and vinegar (hopefully ‘‘tis will also help with the odor in the room) and it seems to be working wonderfully so far! Thank you all for the suggestions
