    What style?

I agree with Klfische. I played around on the Ethan Allen site to find fabrics for a chair I liked. Immediately eliminated two of them when I saw them in person. Not even close to what they looked like online. When I made the fabric selection for the chair it was easy to find a complementary match for the sofa.

My recommendation would be to visit stores to find a sofa that fits your personal needs. Sit on it; lie down on it. You can't do that online. Take a photo of your chair (cushion too, if possible) and let the store designer make suggestions for a sofa.

I'd be more inclined to choose a solid gray sofa with a velvety fabric and with a similar roll-arm style. Something really modern won't look good with the chairs. I think with the gray color matching the exact shade would be less important. I buy almost everything on-line since I hate shopping at stores and also have health issues, and I would take a chance buying a couch on-line if it had lots of reviews and, even better, some of the reviews commented about the color and showed actual pictures of the furniture they got. Otherwise you can have some unhappy surprises. I would do solid gray or black pillows for these chairs, preferably velvet.

Ingrid, I hate most shopping too. I put off the furniture store visit for almost 3 years. We had to do serious ceiling repairs in the living room, so all furniture was moved to a POD. I decided I wasn't bringing that crappy sofa back in the house and it was paramount that we find a new one that was comfortable for both of us. Had a list of stores to visit, but lucked out with the first stop. Only downside is waiting 3 months for delivery.

I think it would pair well with a tufted sofa to add texture because those have a lot of pattern, then add pattern to the solid colored sofas pillows your going to want to stay close to the curled arm style.

i would not do a black sofa. you can do a beige, or tan/brown. you can also do a natural brownish leather.

    some good pillows are

    My two cents. Good luck!

For a sofa, pick one that uses the darkest shades in your chair, if it has to be a solid, or one with a nap that appears to have some varied shade on shade in it. If you go lightest shades in that chair, the sofa will need a slipcover. Sofa's get used and you don't want a light colored sofa. Been there, done that. Either the gold tone or the deepest gray tone you can find would be most user friendly. Love your fabric on that chair! Very nice.

I think a English roll arm style would work well with your chairs. This one appears to be a dusky gray with blue undertones, similar to the darkest color in your chair.

^Like that sofa Manon posted with the chair(s). It works well.

Thanks, Denita! I like that the back shape mimics the chairs'. Stylistically, I think it relates well, too. It'll be fun to see what Darcy decides.

Paint the walls a lighter color in the chair fabric, add a charcoal linen textured sofa, modern lines narrow arms, add an accent wall color in the gold tone of the chairs, sea grass rug for contrast between floor and sofa, steel and wood end tables, velvet ottoman in gold. Bronze lamps.

Thank you all for the great advice. My heart was pounding with the suggestion. Great decorator on here. We all appreciate you.

Manon showed exactly the sofa that I suggested. A really perfect match, and so much more interesting than a beige sofa. I think we've all been beiged out. (Yes, I have beige living room furniture, bought 11 years ago, but have tried really hard to introduce other colors. Now I would choose differently.)

I don't know if you were considering the tufted sofa I thought it paired well to add texture and add patterned pillows, it's not as boxy.
