where are the curtains going?

Lovely space! A cream and black combo isn't an accent color, but sure would look great in your space. The photos are the before with regard to the countertops. The new granite is not in yet, but is pictured in the first photo.

Vistas Interior Design - I agree, but I was hoping for color. I suppose I could add color in accessories such as canisters and the like. I thought about buffalo check in cream and black or a cream background with black etched floral. I have looked at sooooo much fabric samples on line.

I can't imagine a color or pattern that would not suit that space. If it were mine I would look for something with a beige background and garnet red design- a Mughal type floral perhaps. Your granite is lovely.

Is this a picture of your current floor or are you getting a new floor?

grapefruit1_ar - this is the old floor (what was the previous owner thinking?) The new floor is a very neutral cream plank tile.

Is there some plum in the granite? I'd go with plums and greens to contrast with the reds in the cherry.

we once had similar granite and turquoise looked great with it.

I think plum would clash w/cabinetry. How about modern print in /pastel blue? I’ve never understood kitchen drapery as I consider it a smell magnet. But to each his own.

Curtains = smell magnet - never thought of that. With all the open floor plans these days, it’s impossible to contain cooking smells to the kitchen :-)

I was thinking of blue or aqua. Not sure about a blue kitchen though.
