70's. i remember them. I'd paint the metal unless you can get them re-chromed.

If the chrome is in good shape then woth it to upholster but there is really nothing special about the chairs.

The chrome is in excellent condition just needs a little cleaning and they fit perfectly in a space I have.

They're cool. I would keep the chrome and reupholster them with a thick, vintage leather.

Don’t use steel wool. Use crumpled aluminum foil to polish the chrome. Steel wool will cause rust.

They look very 80’s to me rather than earlier. In some bright primary colors or patterns, they could be very Memphis looking.
