somewhat OT: why a newly written post doesn`t appear?

Hi there

I have problems with the iffy new version of GW.

Tried to post something on "shrubs", tried a second time on shrubs,

found both posts in my account, section "activities", edited second post ( I enquired about willows with catkin, using the other word tRump braggs to grabb females by...)

still see both post in my activities-box but not in forums??

utterly confused,

did you experience something similar?

thanks, bye, Lin

The way I make a new topic post is to go to the gardenweb forum where I want the post to appear (for example this perennial forum at http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/peren/ )

At the top of the page there is a window for the title of your post, with a larger window directly under that for the subject material, along with options for adding photos, and a "post" button. I navigate and make new posts using a computer, so it might look different on a phone.

I haven't had a problem posting, but this might be some new glitch in the Houzz/Gardenweb software. Maybe they were doing some sort of update at the time you tried to publish your post. I looked on the Shrub forum and I don't see your thread either. That's a shame. I hope you are able to get it to post. I'd be interested to read it since I have a lot of pussywillow bushes.

It happened to me before. Somehow after an hour or so it showed up in the threat. Another time it didn’t, but posted after I edited (I didn’t really)

I've seen a few other notes about disappearing and reappearing posts on other forums in the last few days. Issues seem to crop up when they start tweaking code for the website I think, and I am now seeing a few changes such as the Houzz logo now appears on all GW pages. I imagine that they are doing other things behind the scenes, and since they are trying to join two different sets of preexisting code (since GW and Houzz were totally different websites for many years), It isn't surprising that glitches crop up, as annoying as they are.

Along with refreshing the page, you can try emptying your cache and removing GW and Houzz cookies.

    Thanks all,

finally the post (in its first version appeared, hours later...

    tried refreshing the page,

funny, when posting This message, it showed immediately,

someone culled post nr 2 and three... of the same theme

makes you wonder, doesn't it, who monitors -constantly?- in the background, whether some computer is running logarythms or some interns screening every post......

    @spedigrees

I still need to look up the willow species for my wish list, all are new-to-me names, will look them again up later. :-)

"makes you wonder, doesn't it, who monitors -constantly?- in the background, whether some computer is running logarythms or some interns screening every post."

There is a little flag icon in the upper left of every post, and most likely a GW user flagged posts 2 and 3 since they were pretty much repeats of the first.
