What thickness is the island countertop? How about the main counter?

We are remodeling our kitchen and we love the look of a thick countertop. We are being told by are designer not to go thicker that 1-1/4" but we are not sure that will give us the desired look. Any information would help, thanks.

Can you tell me the difference between this countertop and calacatta borghini?? They look so similar.

jt6512, The primary difference between this slab, and Calacatta Borghini is the material type. The slab shown in this image, Nouveau Calacatta, is a quartz product which is man-made and nonporous. This means that it is less likely to show wear and tear as the years go by. Calacatta Borghini is a natural marble material and will require more maintenance than quartz. You can read more about natural marble on our website here.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I like the look of marble, but the quartz seems to be easier to maintain.

    dcoste,

There are two quartz materials shown in this image. The quartz installed on the island is our Nouveau Calacatta, and the quartz installed on the perimeter countertops is our Slate Grey.

Since we don't carry a product called Calcutta Lazo, we wouldn't be able to provide information on the differences. But you can see information on the products installed in the image here.
