I have run across this dilemma a few times over the past few years while working on sales here. I have posted this picture as an example. I do realize that this product, in some commercial applications would be called a "Pilon"...would / should I call our products similar to this as a residential "Pilon"? Even though pilons are self supported structures and these type of products require a separate structure to be mechanically bolted to. Or is the description "Address Plaque" more accurate? We typically install these products in partnership with the the landscape design team, they are always located in the front yard and not on the house itself. I do realize that address plaques are fastened to the house so I am not sure if that is the proper description. Please help and thank you!
