Bathrooms Remodeling Design Dilemma

Medicine cabinet dilemma!

I am renovating my bathroom and ideally I’d put a 48” recessed medicine cabinet across my wall over sink and toilet, but there are pipes above the toilet that won’t allow recessed. I can definitely do a surface mount but fear it’ll be too clunky for a small bathroom. Does anyone know if it is possible (and how) to do a recessed medicine cabinet next to a mirror and have it look seamless / like it was a 2 door medicine cabinet ??!! And or can anyone recommend a custom medicine cabinet place near NYC that won’t cost me another bathroom!

I personally prefer surface mounted medicine cabinets. I had a small bathroom in my last house and I have an even smaller bathroom in this house. Here is what I suggest:

This is similar to the one I bought at Lowes. Mine has french doors with the mirrors on the front of the doors. In the slots below the cabinet, there are 3 white wicker baskets, which we all love. There are 3 adults in my house and we each have our own wicker basket for our bathroom stuff.
