I got some pigeon peas and harvested my first crops recently. It took me about three hours to shell about enough for a curry. The peas are half the size of regular peas. I don't recommend them for the impatient.

i just harvested some this morning as well. ive got about 6 different varieties of pigeon pea. some seed are larger than others. the ones with the light green/cream seeds are the largest. they have all yellow flowers. these are about the size of a green pea. there is another variety with brown/orange seed with very large seeds, maybe even larger than normal peas, havent grown them out yet to see how the plants grow. can always get the variety pack from: https://www.hawaiiseedgrowersnetwork.com/shop

Wow, thankyou for the info, I will order some right now. I was so bummed about the tiny peas that i had I ripped out most of my plants. If they were more like garden pea size I could deal with it. Is there any difference in flavor?

i havent been eating them because im saving seed, so im not sure about flavor differences just yet
