Get a slipcover. A plain washable duck canvas will work depending on the other colors of everything else.

A lot depends on how you tie the wall color in with other furnishings, pillows and accessories. It doesn't sound like a problem that can't be overcome with paintings, accessories, pillows, etc.

Something's gotta give. Sea salt and maroon are not a good combo. Either find a different paint color or a different sofa. :-)

Yes I thought about using a cover since I’m going for a cottage-feel (1949 older home). I wanted to lighten up and like greens/blues/creams. Either that or break out the money for a new couch.

We had Sea Salt in our master bath and IMO, it is more of a cool modern “spa type” color where as maroon is a warm and/or traditional so it really isn’t a good fit. However, it’s much easier to change a paint color than it is fabric, so why not just find a gray that leans more to the warmer side so it will work with the maroon? A soft silvery gray for example would be pretty.

What other colors to make a small house flow? Using Sea Salt in LR and Hall. Thinking of Softened Green with Dover White cabinets in kitchen. What about bath color that has black and white tile floors off the hall? Bedroom? Thanks

It seems you are in love with Sea Salt. I don’t blame you, it’s a wonderful color. Blue in some lighting, green in others, it’s soft and breezy. I still don’t think it’s a great color for a living room (maroon included or not) and it’s so light it probably won’t be visible in the hallway at all, BUT... it would be pretty with the white cabinets in your kitchen and with the black and white floors in your bath. Comfort Gray, which is one shade darker on the strip is just a little darker version of the Sea Salt and is quite pretty as well. As I mentioned earlier, we had the Sea Salt in our new master bath, however the lighting in there wasn’t a good match and too dark especially in the winter. We repainted with the Comfort Gray and that did the trick.

This blog has some great gray tones that I think would give you that light airy feel your seeking but will not clash with the tones in your sofa. BM Gray Owl is a stunning gray that’s pretty popular. (And SW can mix BM colors) As you can see from the pic below, it’s beautiful.
