Or the app needs to sort these by date. Why would 3 year old questions be sorted near the top of the discussion?

ashley, when anyone comments on them, it revives the thread and moves it to the top of the list. Often, these old posts appear in the margins. they're there because you're prob searching or commenting on something with a similar theme, so it shows your related threads.

Just make a habit of checking the date of the post before commenting.
