I'll just comment that we have a steam shower in our house where the steam element is completely unnecessary. The shower 'capsule' is so tightly sealed that it gets 'steamy' just running the hot water in the small enclosed space.

I wonder how many people who've installed steam units actually use them after the first couple of weeks of novelty?

We used ours every single day! We have always had a Mr Steam ( 3 different houses) but considering other brands as well this time around.

Does anyone have any recent experience comparing? Im curious about the aromatherapy. my understanding is that with Thermasol you drop the essential oils directly onto the steam head for each shower. With steamist, you buy 2 $100 bottles and you can have only two stored, then you choose which one you want digitally. would love any feedback if folks made a recent choice. Any other considerations would be helpful.

Also does anyone have any info or opinion on the chroma-therapy lighting ? Can I add that later on? Anyone hear of adding red light and near infrared to a steam shower ?

We went with the Mr Steam for our new house. It's our 4th one. Couldn't be happier! Just be sure to size properly., taking into consideration the materials in your shower (porcelain, marble etc)

It's seems super hard to get comparison info. Also debating between Thermasol and Mr Steam. We were leaning toward Thermasol, but just has a plumber over to give us a quote and he had never heard of Thermasol and has done lots of Mr Steams installs. There seems to be 3 key factors that I'm considering. The constant steam of Thermasol seams to be a big draw. Although the automatic auroma of the MS seems lots better then manually doing it. The Serenity Light, Sound, Rainhead looks amazing, but it cost $2k and then you also need a $1,500 digital shower valve. I'm a little worried about all the gee-wiz stuff on the Thermasol that may wear out sooner in the long game.
