Our bathroom is tiny, too, I call it the Jimmy Carter bathroom because it's the size of a peanut (his family was peanut farmers, remember?) Anyway, our vanity top had to be cut at an angle in order for us to swing the shower door open. I don't have any pics, but it looks fine.

I don't have any photos now, but it is common to decide that the extra space from the counter or cabinet is worth the need to adjust the trim. I see the trim notched more often than the countertop, probably because it is easier to cut wood trim than countertops

I once looked at a house for sale which had a short, angled hallway with an unusual little triangular shelf poking out of the wall into the hallway. It was odd, but didn't really look bad, just totally useless. Then, I went around the corner into the little bathroom...it was a corner sink but the angle on the sink top didn't match the wall angle so the homeowner actually cut a hole in the wall and put the sink top through the wall into the hallway! I'm not kidding either...I didn't have a camera with me that day or I would have taken a photo for my oddities collection...
