Searching for a specific forum in the word salad of the Topics page...

I don't want to have to type in the name of a forum to find it on the Forum Title/Topics page--but until (if) the titles are alphabetized, I've discovered that you can type the name of the forum in the search box, which will bring up a hot link to the forum, then click on that link, instead of scrolling down and looking through the chaos.

I remember when I first found Gardenweb, and scrolling down the treasure trove of garden and home forums. If the title page had looked as it does now, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Hope this helps alleviate a little of the frustration.

ETA, Houzz suggested I cross post this thread in Lighting, lol. Well, I am trying to shed a little light on the situation. ;)

You can also type Houzz and the name of the forum in the internet search bar at the top of your page.

I just added it to your list, lukki. Thank you for taking the time to consolidate the suggestions. The Gardenweb community is still true to form--volunteering time and energy to help each other, and prospective new members.

moonie, were you referring to the Topics page? When I type in hummingbird, this is what I see:

Adding garden didn't change the results, so we still need the list alphabetized, to avoid confusion:

Clicking on the link brings up the Hummingbird Garden Forum.

Yes, mamagoose. I searched from the topics page and found it! Apparently you can't search for other forums when you're in a different forum. I believe it may have always been like that. Thank you!

IIRC (from just a couple of days ago, when life was relatively normal ;), in the area that now says 'Your topics' and 'Explore Topics', top left, it previously had Garden forums, or Home forums, or All Discussions as options, and clicking on a button brought up the list of forums, so in that respect it hasn't changed. It would have been nice if Houzz had included some instructions ahead of time--a lot of angst could have been avoided.

Using a phone doesn't give same result as a pc! On my phone I don't see any of the left hand stuff like top commenter. Looking at the examples above it is obvious one is a phone and one is a pc.

I really can't understand how clueless they must be to not even alphabetize the lists.
