Front door opens to Foyer & Dining Room - pls help w/ furniture layout

My front door currently opens to foyer and the dining room on the right part as you will see in the first photo below.

My dilemma:

--1. I wanted to have a space for small console table where I could put keys, etc upon entry and a bench where I could sit while I put on shoes (we don't wear shoes inside the house :p ). But I don't know how or where to place these items in my foyer-slash-dining room. Any ideas?

--2. Also, feel free to suggest furniture/fixture that would best fit the room's layout - I'm currently drawn to the style of this house [https://www.houzz.com/magazine/houzz-tour-black-white-and-wood-in-a-new-modern-farmhouse-stsetivw-vs~92950731(https://www.houzz.com/photos/modern-farmhouse-farmhouse-dining-room-salt-lake-city-phvw-vp~99177167) Looking to find child-friendly and wallet-friendly versions of the key items.

--3. The #2 light is not aligned to the windows where I'd like to place the dining table - possible solution: use tracklights, what do you think?

I have also included a layout (see second photo) that I'm currently working on. Nothing is final yet as we have a few more weeks until move in date. I will greatly appreciate your help/advice/opinion.

It appears your foyer is just not large enough to put any piece of furniture there without infringing on the DR space. You might have a wall mounted shelf on the wall before the kitchen entry and possibly place a stool underneath it for seating.

Possibly, not knowing how large your dining table is, you could orient it perpendicular to the windows, which could give you more wall space for your entry.

As for the light, just make sure it is over your table. Don't worry about whether it is centered with the front windows.

Thanks colonialgp! A wall mounted shelf is a great option. I will try placing the dining table perpendicular to the window, it definitely add some space to the foyer. Maybe i'll get 6-seater instead.

I am now considering a round table, what do you guys think? Does it make sense? Enough space for a small console table and stool/chair perhaps for the entryway?

Did you option the special ceiling detail for this room that is noted on the drawing?

If so that dictates a rectangular table for the area.

I have shown the size for the table, (not to say you can't add a leaf to enlarge it when necessary.

I have added a demilune table for your foyer table. That should work nicely.

Hi BeverlyFLADeziner, I have never thought of adding a demilune table, thanks for suggesting that.

About the ceiling, we did not opt for the ceiling detail, does that mean a round table works too?

Also, what type of entry/dining table lights would you suggest?

I already have a few in mind but I fear that they either match too much or don't match at all.
